Pyongyang, April 24 (KCNA) -- Preserved at the Korean Revolution Museum in the DPRK are significant historical relics dealing with the founding of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army, the first revolutionary armed forces of Juche type.

Among them are the historic speech "On the Occasion of Founding the Anti-Japanese People's Guerilla Army" made by President Kim Il Sung on April 25, 1932 and the flag of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (the then Anti-Japanese People's Guerrilla Army).

Looking at the historical mementoes, visitors recollect the day when the KPRA was founded.

At the founding ceremony of the KPRA, the President declared that the KPRA, made up of workers, peasants and patriotic youths who opposed the Japanese imperialists and their stooges and loved the country and people, was the revolutionary armed forces that truly protect the interests of the people.

The KPRA, whose mission was to overthrow the colonial rule of the Japanese imperialists in Korea and achieve the independence and social emancipation of the Korean people, won in the battle of Xiaoyingziling, the first one conducted under the leadership of the President, adding shine to the history of the anti-Japanese revolutionary war.

The birth of the KPRA provided the driving force for taking charge of and leading the armed struggle and made it possible to deal a decisive blow to the Japanese imperialists and develop the anti-Japanese national liberation struggle in Korea onto a higher stage.

The historical mementoes tell about the immortal exploits of the President who founded a genuine people's army and accomplished the historic cause of national liberation. -0-
