Pyongyang, April 9 (KCNA) -- Passing-on-technique activities are under way in different parts of the DPRK to train skilled workers, technicians and medical workers for the operation of regional-industry factories and hospitals to be built in cities and counties this year.

This year, the training of skilled workers intended for those selected from different occupations and production processes in relevant cities and counties will be held, divided into two stages, at light industrial factories in the capital city and modern regional-industry factories in the provinces. The first-stage passing-on-technique courses started in March are now in full swing in the capital city and the provinces.

Teachers and researchers of the relevant sectors of science and education and technicians of factories are giving on-the-spot technical lectures to trainees at the Pyongyang Children's Foodstuff Factory, Pyongyang Cosmetics Factory, Pukchang County Daily Necessities Factory and Sinuiju School Uniform Factory in order to prepare them to handle equipment independently, while supplying them with enough study materials.

The trainees in the fields of food, daily necessities and clothing are acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills for normal operation of factories, improvement of quality of products and management of equipment.

The passing-on-technique meeting in the public health sector is being held with a development-oriented goal for widening visions of medical workers and improving their professional qualifications.

The Pyongyang General Hospital, Kim Man Yu Hospital, Pyongyang University of Medicine Hospital and Pyongyang Maternity Hospital and the Sci-tech Complex are making sincere efforts to provide the conditions with the main emphasis on strengthening basic theoretical education in the medical knowledge according to departments and operating principle of medical equipment and intelligent medical service system.

Medical workers from Kangnam, Phyongwon, Sonchon, Songhwa, Pongsan and Thongchon counties and Taean District are learning about diagnosis and medical treatment suited to the development trend of modern medical science, detailed idea of various kinds of medical equipment and experience of operating them, under the assistance of prestigious medical persons from the capital city and clinically-experienced doctors and technicians. -0-
