Pyongyang, May 5 (KCNA) -- According to Rodong Sinmun, scientific farming promotion teams active in different parts of the DPRK strive to minimize the negative impact of the persistent drought on wheat and barley farming.

Their members active in Sukchon, Phyongwon, Anak, Chongdan, Pukchang and Kosan counties have measured soil humidity at various depths to determine the order and quantity of watering in wheat and barley fields.

Fertilizing wheat and barley fields with various kinds of nutrient reinforcing agents and growth regulators has been conducted under the guidance of those members.

The teams are also taking measures to enhance weeding effect by chemical methods. -0-
