Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- The workers in the metal industry of the DPRK are making innovations in the production of iron and steel needed for construction of major objects.

The smelters of the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex set a rational mixture ratio of charge in conformity with the raw material conditions and the amount of oxygen injection and actively applied advanced working methods to increase the output of molten iron per charge.

The Chollima Steel Complex has produced rolled steel according to varieties and sizes while steadily improving the iron production method to suit its actual conditions.

The Musan Mining Complex is improving the mining methods and boosting the capacity of conveying and dressing ore while pushing ahead with drilling and mucking at the same time.

The Unnyul Mine is increasing the production of iron ore by conducting technical control over mining equipment in a responsible manner and through continued drilling and blasting. The workers of the Posan Iron Works and the Hungnam Electrode Factory are taking technical measures to improve the quality of products. -0-
