Brisk Work for Protection of Historical Relics

Pyongyang, May 30 (KCNA) -- Kaesong City of the DPRK directs efforts to the protection of national cultural heritage.

The Kaesong City Management Office for the Protection of National Heritage is intensifying the technical guidance to ensure that the repair work of Sungyang Confucian Shrine and other historical buildings is conducted on the principle of historicism.

The office has promoted the work to tend green areas, create flower beds and repair embankments of historical relics with significance of national treasure including Sonjuk Bridge, Phyochung Monuments and Mausoleum of King Kyonghyo, while introducing scientific method for preservation.

The Koryo Museum and the Heritage Management Office for Mausoleum of King Wang Kon are directing primary efforts to the management of wooden elements, the main thing in the preservation and management of old buildings, and walls and foundations.

Similar success has been witnessed at the Pakyon Falls Scenic Spot Conservation Office. -0-
