New Cultural Heritage Registered in DPRK
Pyongyang, May 8 (KCNA) -- The custom of utilizing blueberries in Mt Paektu was registered as No. 151 of the national intangible cultural heritage in the DPRK.
From olden times, the Korean people have widely used blueberries in Mt Paektu, one of the famous specialties, for their diet and health recovery.
The blueberries are popular among the people for their nutritional value and medicinal efficacy. Such processed products as wine, syrup and jelly and medicines made from them have been favored by the Korean people.
The custom of utilizing blueberries in Mt Paektu is being further developed to keep with the emotional, aesthetic and vital requirements of the people. -0-
