Hydroelectric Power Stations Built in Jagang Province of DPRK

Pyongyang, April 17 (KCNA) -- Jagang Province of the DPRK strives to create much more hydroelectric generating capacity.

It is accelerating the on-going construction of power stations along with preparations for building new small- and medium-sized power stations.

Cities and counties have surveyed the hydroelectric resources in their areas and given precedence to the designs for the construction of power stations. They ensure that construction forces are formed and building materials and equipment supplied in a rational way to suit the scale of construction projects.

Usi County has pushed ahead with the construction of the Usi Power Station No. 3 at the final stage to finish it within the first half of the year.

Janggang County completed the waterway tunnel project, a key to the construction of the Janggang Power Station No. 6, and is stepping up the construction of hydraulic structures.

Ryongnim and Songwon counties which are building the Ryongnim Kyedong Power Station and the Myongmun Power Station No. 3 are stepping up the projects for dams, generator rooms and other projects as scheduled. -0-
