Work for Preventing Natural Disasters Brisk in DPRK

Pyongyang, August 14 (KCNA) -- Officials and working people in the urban management sector of the DPRK are intensifying the work for preventing damage by flood, heavy rains and rainstorm.

Officials of the Ministry of Urban Management thoroughly found out the dangerous spots vulnerable to natural disasters including flood, heavy rain and rainstorm and took thorough measures.

Pyongyang City established a double power supply system while keeping a close watch on operation situation of drainage system like drainage pumps and mobile water pumps installed at underground crossings and underground roadways.

North Hamgyong Province is taking additional measures for increasing the drainage capacity by speeding up the dredging work of storm sewerage systems.

Officials of Jagang Province are taking double and triple measures for preventing damage of the water supply network and roads.

Officials of South Hamgyong Province acquainted themselves with the situation of installing props at the roadside trees in different regions including Hamhung City in detail and took immediate measures by finding out the unsatisfied parts.
