Pyongyang, June 2 (KCNA) -- Sinhung Restaurant in the DPRK marked its 50th founding anniversary.

Sinhung Restaurant is a famous local catering center. President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il personally named it with a deep meaning and visited it several times to guide it to be faithful to its mission and duty as a service centre for the people.

A meeting was held on the spot on June 1.

Present there were An Kum Chol, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials concerned and officials and employees of the restaurant.

An Kum Chol conveyed a congratulatory message of the WPK Central Committee to the employees and officials of the restaurant.

The WPK Central Committee in the message said that the course of development of the restaurant, which was built as a Korean-style edifice in an excellent location at the foot of Mt Tonghung and started its operation with high honor, is associated with loyalty, sincerity and collectivism displayed by its employees and officials who have preserved and glorified the Party's leadership exploits as benefits substantially reaching the people in their life.

The message noted that the restaurant has won titles of Twice Three-Revolution Red Flag, Thrice "Lathe No.26" Model Machine Prize and model law-observance unit and produced many winners of the Party and state commendations in the days when it built bases for ideological education, steadily improved the service conditions and environment and laid solid material and technical foundations for its management.

The WPK Central Committee extended warm congratulations to all the employees and officials of the restaurant greeting its 50th anniversary with the pride and honor of having made devoted efforts for the people.
