Pyongyang, October 12 (KCNA) -- The Eleventh Meeting of the International Kim Il Sung Prize Council and the Second Meeting of the International Kim Jong Il Prize Council  were held here on October 11.

Present there were Mukesh Sharma, secretary general of the International Kim Il Sung Prize Council and the International Kim Jong Il Prize Council, its directors and Kim Un Je, vice-chairperson of the Korean Association of Social Scientists.

The meetings reviewed the work of the councils over the past period, indicated directions for future action, and elected some directors of the councils.

The meetings discussed the issues of awarding the International Kim Jong Il Prize to figures who made special contributions to the global cause of independence on the occasion of the 85th birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il. -0-
