Pyongyang, August 24 (KCNA) -- Thanks to the efforts of officials and workers in the light industry sector of the DPRK, progress has been made in modernizing and maintaining and repairing equipment.

The Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill manufactured hundreds of accessories of 10-odd kinds by itself, repaired tens of spinning machines and drawing frames and remodeled flexible rapier looms.

Officials, workers and technicians at Sinuiju, Sariwon and Kusong textile mills registered successes in improving the performance of equipment by applying advanced technologies.

The Aeguk Knitwear Factory increased the output of knitwear and the Pyongyang Children's Knitted Goods Factory, the Sunchon Knitwear Factory and the Haeju Knitwear Factory finished the maintenance and repair of scores of machines.

The Pyongyang Hosiery Factory has improved the productivity and the quality of products by increasing the capacities of 10-odd hosiery knitting machines.
