Pyongyang, June 12 (KCNA) -- North Hamgyong Province of the DPRK has built one hundred and tens of pumping stations this year.
Kyongsong County completed the construction of pumping stations at Ryongchon, Yombun and other farms in a short span of time by introducing advanced working methods, and also carried out the project for giving a complete facelift to the pumping stations built last year.
The city of Chongjin and the county of Hwadae built pumping stations as required by the standard designs after giving precedence to the supply of equipment and materials needed for establishing irrigation and drainage systems.
Officials and working people in Yonsa, Kyongwon and Kyonghung counties pushed ahead with the construction of pumping stations and the waterway project simultaneously to irrigate farm fields on the plateaus which had suffered from drought.
Hoeryong City, Kilju County and other parts of the province, too, have directed efforts into the construction and repair of irrigation facilities. -0-
