DPRK Players Return Home

Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- DPRK players returned home on June 10 after taking part in the Ulaanbaatar Open 2026 Wrestling held in Mongolia.

The tournament brought together more than 290 men and women players from 20-odd countries including the DPRK, China, Kazakhstan and India. DPRK players bagged ten medals including five gold medals.

Kim Son Hyang, O Kyong Ryong, Choe Hyo Gyong, Kim Ok Ju and Mun Hyon Gyong won gold medals in women's 50 kg, 53 kg, 55 kg, 62 kg and 65 kg categories respectively and Han Chong Song, Ro Yu Chol, Son Il Sim and Hong Pyol came second in freestyle wrestling 57 kg category, Greco-roman 60 kg category and women's wrestling 57 kg and 59 kg categories respectively.

Meanwhile, Kim Kwang Jin placed third in freestyle wrestling 65 kg category.

The players were greeted at Pyongyang Railway Station by officials concerned, officials in the sports field, sportspersons and families. -0-
