Pyongyang, May 10 (KCNA) -- Staff members of the Russian embassy here laid a wreath at the Liberation Tower on May 9 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Russia's victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Attending the wreath-laying ceremony were Russian Ambassador to the DPRK Alexandr Matsegora and members of his embassy, Russian guests staying here and officials of the relevant field including the Foreign Ministry.

A wreath in the name of the Russian embassy was placed at the tower.

The participants paid silent tribute to the memory of the fallen fighters of the Soviet Army before looking round the tower.

On the same day, they laid a wreath, bouquets and flowers at the cemetery of fallen fighters of the Soviet Army in Sadong District.

Meanwhile, officials of the Russian embassy visited the monuments to the Soviet Army in Tongnim, Sinuiju, Uiju, Wonsan, Hamhung, Nampho and Haeju, and members of the Russian consulate general in Chongjin the liberation tower and the cemetery of fallen fighters in Chongjin City and Rason Municipality. -0-
