Efforts Made in DPRK to Establish Production Process for Soil-covering Biodegradable Paper

Pyongyang, January 25 (KCNA) -- According to Minju Joson, the scientific farming promotion team is working hard to establish a soil-covering biodegradable paper production process for the sustained growth and stability of agricultural production.

Officials and scientists of the team have striven to perfect a new technology that can raise the productivity of the paper more than twice with less energy and manpower.

In particular, they are concentrating efforts on perfecting the technology of producing the paper to be used not only in dry fields but also in paddy fields so as to provide a technical guarantee for increasing the area of its application.

They are also solving the technical problems arising in developing and perfecting the sustainable covering technology based on local raw materials and applying it in a comprehensive way.

Meanwhile, they launched the work to build in a short span of time facilities for increasing the production of the paper in provinces, cities and counties.

They have introduced successes and experience gained in Samchon and Mundok counties, Hoeryong City and other areas taking the lead in the work to encourage other parts of the country to manufacture equipment and normalize the production in conformity with their actual conditions.

The team is organizing demonstration lectures in an effort to deepen the knowledge of officials and technicians, while disseminating new technologies. -0-
