Pyongyang, May 29 (KCNA) -- The Mangyongdae Schoolchildren's Palace, a comprehensive extracurricular educational base for schoolchildren and a "pedigree farm" for talent education, is situated in the Mangyongdae area in Pyongyang Municipality.

The palace has various hobby group rooms, theatre, library, gymnasium, swimming pool, etc. for extracurricular activities of schoolchildren. A large number of promising reserve scientists, sportspersons and artistes are growing there.

The Mangyongdae Schoolchildren's Palace, which has changed its appearance into a palace of children without an equal in the world, is associated with the warm love of the respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un who spares nothing for the rising generations and makes them the happiest in the world.

The palace, built in 1989 under the benevolent care of the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, was remodeled more magnificently under the energetic and meticulous leadership of the respected fatherly Marshal.

One day in May 2014, Kim Jong Un visited the palace and set forth the task of remodeling it. Saying that it is the firm determination of the Workers' Party of Korea to make the sons and daughters of the working people give full play to their hope and skill to their heart's content, he saw to it that designing and construction forces were organized, and took measures for supplying materials.

He personally examined hundreds of pieces of layouts, frequently acquainted himself with the construction and took benevolent measures.

In November next year he looked round the remodeled palace and gave precious instructions which would serve as guidelines for its management and operation. Then he sent a lot of musical instruments, modern educational equipment, apparatuses and buses.

Thanks to the boundless loving care of the great fatherly leader, the song "We Are the Happiest in the World" sung by the schoolchildren who are giving full play to their hope and talent reverberates far and wide across the socialist motherland. -0-
