Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) -- An enlarged plenary meeting of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea took place on Thursday.

Pak Thae Song, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and premier of the DPRK Cabinet, guided the meeting.

Present there were Vice-Premiers Kim Jong Gwan, Yang Sung Ho and other members of the Cabinet.

Attending it as observers were officials of the organs under the Cabinet, ministries and national agencies, chairpersons of the provincial, city and county people's committees and officials of the agricultural guidance organs and major industrial establishments.

The meeting reviewed the implementation of the first quarterly national economic plan for carrying out the decisions of the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK and discussed the measures arising in accomplishing the national economic plan for the first half of the year.

Pak Jong Gun, vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the State Planning Commission, made a report.

The reporter said that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un clearly indicated the orientation and tasks for the historic advance to bring earlier the period of comprehensive prosperity of the state at the plenary meeting of the Party Central Committee and wisely led the work for their implementation.

He said that the first entities of the Party's Regional Development 20×10 Policy have kept the production going at a high rate, the all-people offensive spirit toward the Ninth Congress of the WPK has been greatly uplifted and the scientific and technological force steadily increased, thus achieving proud successes in the implementation of the first quarterly national economic plan.

Analyzing and reviewing defects and deviations made by some units in the implementation of the first quarterly plan, he called for intensifying the struggle to overcome the passive and self-protective work attitude of officials revealed in the implementation of the Party's economic policy.

He stressed the need for officials to courageously lead the struggle for thoroughly implementing the decisions of the Party Congress with their firm readiness that they are entirely responsible for the work of their sectors and units before the Party and the state.

Speeches were made at the meeting.

The meeting referred to the practical matters arising in providing a sure guarantee for the fulfillment of the five-year plan by carrying out the second quarterly national economic plan and in substantially pushing forward the preparatory process for entering the next stage of development, and took relevant measures. -0-
