Pyongyang, July 27 (KCNA) -- There is the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum, a grand monumental edifice symbolizing the eternal victory of the DPRK, on the bank of the Pothong River in Pyongyang.

The museum, opened in August 1953, was newly built into a grand museum telling about the history and tradition of the great victory in the war under the guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

Kim Jong Un initiated the project for remodeling the museum and solved all problems arising in the project ranging from designing to the formation of construction forces and supply of materials.

He visited the construction site several times to indicate the orientation and ways for successfully remodeling the museum to glorify the immortal exploits performed by President Kim Il Sung for winning the victory in the war and vividly show the merits of the service personnel and people and the enemy's defeat.

While guiding the work of the Mansudae Art Studio and various sectors of the People's Army, he watched the art works depicting the President, the historical mementoes and data to be displayed at the museum and set forth the principle to be observed in creating art works and finding historical data.

The Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum with a vast area centered on the sculpture "Victory" bearing the letters "Respects to the Great Years" written by Kim Jong Un is a precious outcome of his wise leadership and indefatigable devotion.

The museum opened in the presence of Kim Jong Un on July 27, 2013 on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War. It has a main hall, Taejon Hall, outdoor exhibition hall and others.

The exhibits of the museum increases as historical data on the exploits performed by the President for wining the victory in the war and relics showing the struggle of the service personnel and people in the war have been found and displayed.

Over the past 70 years many service personnel, working people, school youth and children have visited the museum and a large contingent of heroes and patriots carrying forward the tradition of the victorious wartime generation grew up to glorify and defend the dignity of the country and people, thus making a history of fresh victory in the history of the DPRK.

The history of the DPRK won victory in the war is given steady continuity along with the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum. -0-
