Measures to Minimize Damage from Moisture and High Temperature in Rainy Season

Pyongyang, July 30 (KCNA) -- The agricultural sector of the DPRK is manuring and tending crops in a scientific and technical way to minimize the damage from moisture and high temperature in rainy season.

The Agricultural Commission and the agricultural guidance organs at all levels are taking measures to ensure the safe growth of crops in conformity with the unfavourable weather conditions.

South Hwanghae Province is manuring and cultivating crops in a responsible way including lowering the temperature of water and soil of paddy fields with a rational method for water management and supplementing various kinds of nutrients.

Rural areas in Kaechon City and Mundok and Phyongwon counties of South Phyongan Province are directing efforts to coping with high temperature.

Songnim City and Kumchon and Junghwa counties in North Hwanghae Province are making the harmful insect observers enhance their role, introducing substitute agrochemicals with a high insecticidal and fungicidal effect and setting up light traps in fields to protect crops.
