Agricultural Scientific Research Gets Brisk in DPRK

Pyongyang, March 29 (KCNA) -- In hearty response to the resolutions of the plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Academy of Agricultural Science and universities of agriculture in the DPRK are focusing their efforts on the scientific research for making achievements conducive to attaining the grain-production goal for this year.

The Rice Research Institute under the Academy of Agricultural Science worked out a teaching plan and measures for distributing various strains in each area and sowing seeds in keeping with the sci-tech requirements, and it is now popularizing them through video conferencing.

The research teams consisting of scientists of the academy and its branches are disseminating advanced scientific farming methods in different parts of the country.

The Institute of Agro-chemicalization sent its scientists to some provinces to help resolve the technical problems. In provinces, they have helped produce quality organic compound fertilizer suited to local conditions.

Universities of agriculture in different parts of the country are pushing forward with the research, development and technical introduction with the strong spirit to increase the agricultural production by dint of scientific farming.

Wonsan University of Agriculture sent able teachers and researchers to cities and counties to help do farm work in a scientific way.

Kim Je Won Haeju University of Agriculture is pushing ahead with the research work conducive to the agricultural production. It has sent their research forces to several counties in province in order to intensify the technical guidance over farming.

Pyongyang University of Agriculture, Nampho University of Agriculture, and other universities are dedicating their wisdom and enthusiasm to the development and introduction of advanced farming methods. -0-
