Pyongyang, December 5 (KCNA) -- The 55th Sports Contest of Artistes took place at the Basketball Gymnasium in Chongchun Street of Pyongyang on Dec. 3 and 4.

In the contest, divided into fields of the film art and stage art, there were various events including Taekwon-Do, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, tennis and tug of war.

Among the spectators were Ju Chang Il, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Sung Jong Gyu, minister of Culture, and officials, creators, artistes, teachers and researchers in the field of culture and arts.
