Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- Meetings were held at various units in South Hamgyong Province of the DPRK to mark the 50th anniversary of the field guidance of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

There were commemorative reports at the meetings.

The reporters said that Chairman Kim Jong Il gave field guidance to the Komdok Mining Complex, Ryongyang Mine, Hamhung Wood Processing Factory and Ponghung-ri of Yonggwang County in July 1975 when the flames of a great revolutionary upsurge were flaring up across the country.

Kim Jong Il acquainted himself in detail with mineral deposits and production, leaving immortal traces at the Komdok Mining Complex and the Ryongyang Mine, and clearly indicated the orientation and ways for the development of the mining industry.

Looking round the compound of the Hamhung Wood Processing Factory and various worksites, he set forth the task for producing modern furniture of multistoried houses in Hamhung City. He also visited Ponghung-ri of Yonggwang County and gave an instruction to increase agricultural production, taking on the appearance of the socialist cultural countryside.

The reporters noted that over the past 50 years the relevant units have made many successes by giving full play to the spiritual strength of the masses, while taking hold on the work for glorifying the leadership exploits of the Workers' Party of Korea.

They called upon the officials and employees to glorify the honor of their units associated with the leadership exploits and fulfill their responsibility and duties in the work for developing the country's economy and improving the people's standard of living. -0-
