Pyongyang, June 16 (KCNA) -- Doctorate degrees of the DPRK were conferred on Chon Mi Hwa and Pak Jun Song, Korean compatriots in China.

They have made contribution to explaining and proving in a profound way the development of the people-oriented public health system under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung, Chairman Kim Jong Il and the respected Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un, the ideological and theoretical and legal basis of the public health system and the great change in building up of material and technical foundations of public health.

A ceremony of awarding the doctorate degrees was held at the Pyongyang Assembly Hall on June 15.

Present there were Jon Sung Guk, vice-premier of the Cabinet who is chairman of the State Commission for Conferment of Academic Degrees and Titles of the DPRK, and officials concerned.

A decision of the State Commission for Conferment of Academic Degrees and Titles of the DPRK was read out. Then degrees of Doctor of Laws and Doctor of Economics were conferred on Chon Mi Hwa and Pak Jun Song respectively. -0-
