President Kim Il Sung's Love for Old People

One day in May 1948, President Kim Il Sung visited the then Sungho Old People's Home in Kangdong County, South Phyongan Province.

That day, the President met the old people of the home, told them not to regret having no children as the country would take good care of them from now on. And he said that they should read newspapers to know the situation and work for their health in accordance with their physical condition.

When he dropped in at the restaurant, he earnestly said that various kinds of dishes suited to the tastes of the old people of the home should be made.

Before leaving the home, the President said that we should take care of the old people with no children though it is a painstaking job. Looking back on sufferings of the old people who had been humiliated and despised under exploitation and oppression in the past, he told them that they should live long in the good world.

They were moved to tears by the great loving care of the President who bestowed a true life on them who had suffered every kind of humiliation and contempt like pebbles on roadsides during the colonial rule of the Japanese imperialists. -0-
