Children's Playground Tells Warm Love of Chairman Kim Jong Il

One day in March 1985, Chairman Kim Jong Il visited a construction site in Pyongyang.

Acquainting himself with the construction state, the Chairman saw large concrete pillars standing behind a folding screen-style apartment house.

The accompanying officials told him that a garage was under construction.

He asked them about the number of flats.

Hearing the answer that the apartment house had 800 flats, he said that if a family had three children, 800 families would have over 2 000 children. He said in an anxious tone that if the garage was built behind the apartment, the children would have no place to play.

Calling for building the garage in other place, though belatedly, he instructed the officials to build a wide children's playground instead of garage.

Soon after, a children's playground was wonderfully built there. -0-
