One day in January Juche 40 (1951) when the Fatherland Liberation War was at its height, President Kim Il Sung visited a command post of the People's Army.

He asked a commander if any proper step was taken for anti-tank battle. The commander replied that it was hard to hunt enemy tanks at will as guns could not be used during the daytime due to the enemy planes.

Saying there is no principle that a gun should be necessary for hunting tanks, the President referred in detail to the regional features of the country and to the fatally weak points of enemy tanks.

Then he initiated organizing tank-hunting teams, plainly teaching how to hunt enemy tanks without guns.

Later, with tricks taught by him, brave soldiers of the People's Army mercilessly destroyed enemy tanks in different parts of the country, thus putting the enemy on the defensive. -0-
