Chongsan Co-op Farm Associated with Leadership Exploits of Peerlessly Great Man

It was early in the morning one day in May 1971.

An official of the then Chongsan Co-op Farm in Kangso County, South Phyongan Province, the DPRK, who had come out to a field to see its irrigation gate, happened to meet Chairman Kim Jong Il.

The Chairman grasped the hand of the official, who hesitated to introduce himself, appreciating his labor at dawn. Then the Chairman said that he came to see the Chongsan Plain and kindly asked the official if the preparations for rice-transplantation were ready.

After hearing his reply that rice-transplantation would begin a few days later, the Chairman stressed that Chongsan-ri should be an example in rice-transplantation throughout the whole country and walked on a footpath between rice paddies to look around the plain.

When the official said that the footpath was rough, the Chairman said that President Kim Il Sung used to walk on a footpath, adding that he wanted to walk on such footpath every day.

Walking along the route of field guidance of the President, he acquainted himself with the situation of the farm and said that he would visit the farm frequently in the future. And he repeatedly asked the official to be good at farm work and rural construction as desired by the President.

Like this, the Chairman gave precious instructions related to farm work, walking on a rough footpath between rice paddies early in the morning. -0-
