Chairman Kim Jong Il Names Korean Jewel Painting

Chairman Kim Jong Il visited the Sangwon Cement Complex one day in August, Juche 77 (1988).

The Chairman saw art works of peculiar form which were created by an artist of the Mansudae Art Studio.

Several pieces of art works, which were created with natural jewels and rare stone powder, with diverse and skilful colouring and high artistic skills, were not only unprecedented in form and method but also new in their formative art effects.

He saw them carefully to judge whether the stone powder would not come off.

He said with great satisfaction that the art works made of stone powder were good and highly appreciated them.

Later, he took a significant measure to make sure that the art work was named Korean jewel painting.

Korean jewel painting!

The name reflects the noble intention of Kim Jong Il who wishes the Korean jewel painting to decorate the flower garden of Juche-oriented fine art of the DPRK more beautifully like an immutable jewel. -0-
