President Kim Il Sung's Benevolence for Agricultural Workers

President Kim Il Sung guided a national conference of agricultural officials in February 1969.

After speeches at the conference, he asked the participants if they had anything to offer.

The then management board chairwoman of the Ryongsan Co-op Farm in Songchon County of South Phyongan Province told the President that she wanted some trucks, tractors and bulldozers, a rice-polishing machine and materials needed for construction of a school.

Writing down the problems raised by her on his notebook, the President told officials to settle them and asked if she had another thing to offer.

The management board chairwoman said to him that it was her ardent wish to meet him at their village. The President agreed to her request with a smile on his face.

After the conference, he sent trucks, tractors and other farm machines and materials needed for building the school to Ryongsan Village. And he visited Songchon County some years later, not forgetting the promise with the chairwoman at the conference venue.

He met her with tears on her eyes and acquainted himself with the farming situation. That day he discussed with the villagers till late at night the ways for yielding bumper crops at the mountain village. -0-
