One day in the autumn of 1969 President Kim Il Sung visited a farm in the vicinity of Pyongyang Municipality.

Kim Il Sung acquainted himself with the construction of water supply system and knew that a site for a depositing reservoir had not been chosen yet.

Saying that let us choose the site together on our way here today, he headed for the well he had seen in the spring of 1957 when he guided the construction for building a small reservoir for a pumping station.

Clear water gushed out from the well but the quantity of water was not enough.

The President said that it would not be enough for the water supply and went to the sheepcote above the well.

He stopped walking in front of the sheepcote and looked around the surrounding area. Then he said that this place was wet all the time even in the drought and ordered officials to dig a hole there.

That was the place which the President saw 10-odd years ago when he guided the building of the reservoir and the small reservoir for a pumping station in order to provide the farmers of the farm with rice.

At that time he had seen the well for the pumping station and the stream of spring water in the entrance to the valley.
