Pyongyang, January 20 (KCNA) -- Kim Yo Jong, vice department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, clarified the stand of the DPRK on the issue of the DPRK-Belarus top-level meeting through the Korean Central News Agency on January 20.
According to a report of TASS on January 17, the Belarusian president said that the DPRK and other Asian countries proposed to Minsk organizing the top-level meeting for the discussion of the issue of cooperation.
I know well that the Belarusian side has been hoping for the top-level contact with the DPRK from at least two years ago.
But if I understand the context of TASS report released on Jan. 17 as it is, it seems not to properly reflect the desire of Belarus.
If I comment on the report of TASS on the speaking of the Belarusian president that we proposed a top-level meeting to Minsk for a discussion of the issue of cooperation, there is no such thing, at least, as far as I know.
If Belarus hopes to develop a cooperative relationship with the DPRK, it is important to clarify its intention correctly.
I think that such veracity and frankness should be the starting point in the relations between the two countries.
The DPRK would welcome with joy the Belarusian side without any reason if it wishes to develop friendly and cooperative relations with the DPRK from this stand. -0-
