Manuring and Cultivation of Crops Put on Sci-tech Basis in Rural Areas

Pyongyang, July 13 (KCNA) -- Rural areas across the DPRK are putting manuring and cultivation of crops and nutritional care for them on a sci-tech basis to increase grain production.

Anak, Paechon and Sinchon counties of South Hwanghae Province are ensuring safe growth of paddy rice by putting leaf fertilizing on a sci-tech basis for each field after making preparations for overcoming damage from moisture in the rainy season and heat.

Mundok, Phyongwon and Taedong counties in South Phyongan Province have applied various methods of rice-paddy irrigation management as the high temperature persists on to enhance the active rooting of paddy rice.

Agricultural workers in Kumya, Kowon, Jongphyong counties in South Hamgyong Province have sprayed plant nutrients and growth stimulants to raise the photosynthetic ratio of crops while taking measures to prevent damage from rice borers by securing germicides and insecticides and improving prediction and forecast.

Other farms in North Hwanghae Province, North Phyongan Province, Nampho Municipality and other areas across the country have introduced advanced experience gained in manuring and cultivating crops to suit their specific conditions and applied earing fertilizer according to cultivation forms to provide conditions favourable for growth of crops. -0-
