Pyongyang, March 31 (KCNA) -- Officials and workers in the railway transport sector of the DPRK strive to improve the conditions of railway and enhance its safety.

Concrete sleeper production units across the country are boosting production.

Technicians and workers at the Rahung Concrete Sleeper Factory have pushed ahead with the production of sleepers while saving fuel used for heating steel by improving the performance of a core wire mill and manufacturing ballast cleaner.

The Sungho Concrete Sleeper Factory took a measure to provide ballast and has carried on the iron bar processing and assembling according to the technical and working rules while creating conditions favorable for production.

The workers at the Kilju Railway Branch and the Jongju Railway Branch carried out their March plans ahead of schedule by making effective use of efficient machines and equipment.

The Chongjin Concrete Sleeper Factory, too, has contributed to improving the railway condition by increasing the production of concrete sleepers.

Tens of thousands of sleepers were replaced throughout the Ministry of Railways.

The Nampho Railway Branch replaced over 6 000 more sleepers as compared to the same period of last year to improve the condition of railway in its charge.

Officials and workers of the Wonsan Railway Branch are making achievements in replacing sleepers. -0-
