Pyongyang, April 27 (KCNA) -- DPRK players returned home after taking part in the Second Asian Karate Championships and Cup held in Kazakhstan.

The championships brought together more than 500 men and women players selected from 18 countries and regions including the DPRK, Russia and Kyrgyzstan.

DPRK players bagged eight gold medals, one silver and one bronze medal.

Kim Rim Song and Pak Su Jong placed first in men's and women's individual pattern and sparring matches and Han Tae Hyok and Jong Won Bom in men's individual sparring matches respectively.

The players who returned home after glorifying the honor of the country were warmly greeted by officials of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee, sportspersons and their families at Pyongyang International Airport on April 26. -0-
