Pyongyang, August 15 (KCNA) -- The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un received a message of greeting from the participants in the European regional internet seminar "President Kim Il Sung and Self-Reliance" on August 9 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

The message said that August 15 is a significant day for the DPRK people and the world progressives to look back upon the sacred revolutionary career of the great President Kim Il Sung, pioneer of the era of independence, and the exploits he performed for Korea's liberation.

President Kim Il Sung liberated Korea from the brutal yoke of Japanese imperialism and saved the country, once eclipsed in the world map, and led the Korean people to build a new state by their own efforts, thus founding the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the first people's democratic state in the East, it noted.

President Kim Il Sung led the three-year war ignited by the U.S. to victory, defeated the imperialist allied forces and completed the postwar reconstruction and accomplished the socialist revolution, thus building the DPRK into a socialist state independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence, the message said.

The message said that the past 80 years since Korea's liberation were the years of independence and self-reliance in which the DPRK has advanced under the banner of the great Juche Idea, adding that today the people's Korea is shining as the fortress of independence admired by the world and beacon of hope under the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un. -0-
