Credentials to President of Vietnam

Pyongyang, August 14 (KCNA) -- DPRK Ambassador Ri Sung Guk presented his credentials to the president of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (SRV) who is general secretary of the C.C., Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), on August 12.

The ambassador courteously conveyed the warm greetings of Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, to To Lam, general secretary of the CPV Central Committee and president of the SRV.

To Lam expressed deep thanks for this and asked the ambassador to convey his heartfelt greetings as well as his gratitude to Comrade Kim Jong Un for having sent congratulations to him as regards his election as the president of the state and the general secretary of the Party.

Vietnam supports the DPRK's efforts for independence, prosperity, peace and development, he said, expressing belief that the Korean people would overcome all difficulties and achieve greater successes in the construction of the country and the improvement of the people's living standards.

Saying with pleasure that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two parties and two countries, provided by President Ho Chi Minh and President Kim Il Sung and cultivated with much effort by the leaders of the two countries, are developing more excellently after Comrade Kim Jong Un's visit to Vietnam, he expressed his conviction that the bilateral relations would grow stronger. -0-
