Pyongyang, April 14 (KCNA) -- DPRK player Kim Kwang Myong won a gold medal at the 2026 Asian Wrestling Championships held in Kyrgyzstan.
In the 61kg category of freestyle wrestling, Kim Kwang Myong defeated his Mongolian rival 10:0 in the preliminary match, his Turkmenian rival 11:0 in the quarter finals and Uzbek rival 3:0 in the semi-finals.
In the finals held on April 12, he beat his Indian rival 13:10.
Ri Se Ung, Kim Son Hyang and Mun Hyon Gyong of the DPRK came second respectively in the Greco-roman 60kg category and the women's 50kg and 62 kg categories to win silver medals.
Meanwhile, An Kum Byol, Won Un Gyong and Hwang Hyo Sun came second respectively in the women's boxing 51kg, 60kg and 65 kg categories at the 2026 Asian Boxing Championships held in Mongolia. -0-
