Pyongyang, June 29 (KCNA) -- Events took place at the Amur Regional Branch Committee and the Khabarovsk Territorial Branch Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, the Communist Party "Russian Communists" and the Maritime Territorial Branch of the All-Russia War Veterans' Social Organization "Militant Fraternity" to mark the 60th anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il's start of work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

Speeches were made at the events attended by personages of relevant units and masses.

The first secretary of the Amur Regional Branch Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation said that Comrade Kim Jong Il is the benevolent father and great leader who made ceaseless field guidance for the prosperity of the country and happiness of the beloved people till the last moments of his life.

Thanks to his positive and self-sacrificing devotion, the DPRK could demonstrate its might as a powerful country in the international arena even when disorder and chaos were created due to the imperialists' pressure and threat and blackmail in many countries of the world, the speaker stressed.

The first secretary of the Khabarovsk Territorial Branch Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation said that Comrade Kim Jong Il was a prominent great man who made immortal contributions to the victorious advance of the socialist cause and the accomplishment of the human cause of independence under the uplifted banner of independence against imperialism, adding that his exploits are shining more brilliantly thanks to Comrade Kim Jong Un.

The WPK has dynamically aroused the people to the building of a powerful socialist country, bringing about miraculous successes admired by the world people one after another, the first secretary noted.
