Anniversary of Formation of Korean Youth League in Japan Observed
Pyongyang, September 2 (KCNA) -- A meeting was held at the Korean Hall in Tokyo on August 27 to mark the 70th anniversary of the formation of the Korean Youth League in Japan (Jochong).
Present there were Pak Ku Ho, first vice-chairman and concurrently director of the Organization Department of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), Ri Kwang Il, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of Jochong, and its vice-chairpersons and delegates.
Read out there was a congratulatory message sent by the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League to the meeting.
Pak Ku Ho made a congratulatory speech and Ri Kwang Il made a report.
Reflecting the unanimous mind of loyalty of all the members of Jochong, the reporter extended the highest honour and warmest thanks to the respected Marshal
He said that the 70-year-long course covered by Jochong is a proud history in which it has steadfastly carried forward the generation of Chongryon by thoroughly embodying the great idea of the movement of Koreans in Japan, true to the leadership of the peerlessly great men under the hard storm and stress in the alien land and firmly rallying the broad young Koreans.
He stressed that Jochong would hold fast to the important letter sent by the respected Marshal to the Chongryon officials and Koreans in Japan on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the formation of Chongryon as a treasured sword for sure victory, carry forward all the wonderful legacies left by the founder generation, take the lead in the three major undertakings for defending the rights and interests, bringing up the new generation and preserving the national identity, and ensure the glorious history of Chongryon's struggle for a hundred, nay a thousand years, filled with redoubled courage and stamina.
