Pyongyang, August 15 (KCNA) -- The European regional internet seminar on the theme of "President Kim Il Sung and Self-Reliance" took place under the sponsorship of the European Regional Committee for Friendship with the Korean People on August 9 on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Korea's liberation.

Present there were personages of the European Regional Committee for Friendship with the Korean People, the Korean Friendship Association and friendship organizations in Europe and other regions including Denmark, Germany, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Sweden, Britain, Iceland, Spain, Croatia and Serbia.

The seminar started with the introduction of congratulatory letters sent by friendship organizations in different countries. The chairman of the Sweden-Korea Friendship Association who is chairman of the European Regional Committee made a keynote report.

The reporter praised President Kim Il Sung as the great master of independent politics, peerless patriot and greatest man who pioneered the Korean revolution under the banner of independence and ushered in a new era of building a prosperous state by dint of self-reliance.

He said that the DPRK people are dynamically advancing along the road of bolstering up their capability for self-defence and the road of overall development of socialism, regarding self-reliance as the national traits peculiar to Juche Korea under the guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un. He also referred to the fact that the whole world admires the DPRK making a leap forward, performing eye-opening miracles and feats every day.

Then followed speeches.

The chairman of the Korean Friendship Association, the chairman of the Switzerland-Korea Committee, the chairman of the Korean Friendship Association UK and other speakers said that the whole life of President Kim Il Sung, the great leader of the Korean people, was the noble one consistent with independence.

A congratulatory message to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the seminar.

An appeal to the world progressive people was also made public to celebrate the 80th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea with splendor.

The appeal said that the period from Aug. 15 to Oct. 10 is set as a celebration month and the atmosphere for celebration is revved up in the world and international events are held in different parts of the world on the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK.

It called on the world progressives to cooperate with each other in order to significantly celebrate the 80th founding anniversary of the WPK. -0-
