Pyongyang, May 28 (KCNA) -- A meeting took place at the Korean Hall of Culture in Tokyo, Japan, on May 25 to mark the 70th founding anniversary of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon).
Present there were Ho Jong Man, chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, Pak Ku Ho, first vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee and concurrently director of its Organization Department, Nam Sung U, vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, Pae Jin Gu, vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee and concurrently director general of its General Affairs Department, Jo Il Yon, vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, Song Kun Hak, vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee and concurrently director of its Education Department, So Chung On, vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee and concurrently director of its Department for International Affairs, Kang Chu Ryon, vice-chairwoman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee and concurrently chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of the Korean Democratic Women's Union in Japan, Ri Myong Yu, chairman of the Central Audit Committee of Chongryon, Pak Chung U, chairman of the Korean Federation of Workers in Commerce in Japan, and Hang Tong Song, rector of Korea University.
On hand there were advisors and directors of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, school inspectors, the director of the Research Institute on History of Korean Residents in Japan, chairpersons of Chongryon headquarters in Kanto area, leading officials of major central organizations of Chongryon and its affiliates and compatriots of various strata.
The national anthem of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was played at the meeting.
Pak Ku Ho, first vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee and concurrently director of its Organization Department, courteously conveyed the letter "Let Us Write a New Great Chapter in the History of the Movement of Koreans in Japan by Carrying Forward the Patriotic Spirit of the Founder Generation" sent by the respected Marshal
Chairman Ho Jong Man made a report at the meeting.
The reporter highly praised the undying feats of the great Generalissimos
He said that the letter sent by the respected Marshal
With the coming decade till its 80th founding anniversary set as a new struggle period, Chongryon will achieve substantial progress in developing itself into a body that puts our compatriots first and serves them faithfully, true to the important letter of the respected Marshal, he noted.

At the end of the meeting, the participants watched a video recording congratulations sent by several organizations in the homeland and a multimedia program "70 years of Indomitableness and to Defend the Idea and Spirit of Foundation" marking the 70th founding anniversary of Chongryon. -0-
