Birth Anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il Celebrated by Koreans in China

Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- Koreans in China held events to celebrate the 84th birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il.

Flower baskets were laid at the statue of President Kim Il Sung at Yuwen Middle School in Jilin and portraits of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il at the DPRK embassy in Beijing, the DPRK missions in Shenyang and Dandong by officials and members of the General Association of Koreans in China, the Association of Korean Women in China, the Association of Young Korean Nationals in China and the Zhongnan Regional Association, the Jilin City Branch of the Jilin Regional Association and the Dandong City Branch of the Liaoning Regional Association under the GAKC, and the family of Hwang Paek Ha, a Korean resident in China related to the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle.

A meeting to adopt a congratulatory letter to the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un was held at the conference hall of the GAKC in Shenyang City on Feb. 13.

Present there were Chairwoman Choe Un Bok and other officials of the GAKC, officials and members of the Federation of Korean Economic Workers in China, the Association of Young Korean Nationals in China and the Liaoning Regional Association of the GAKC.

A GAKC's congratulatory letter to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting.

Then the participants watched "For the Coming Generations", part 4 of the Korean documentary film "General Kim Jong Il, Peerless Patriot".

Meanwhile, a seminar on Kim Jong Il's immortal feats, a resolution-taking meeting and other celebrations were held at the Jilin Regional Association and the Harbin Regional Association under the GAKC and other affiliated organizations. -0-
