Pyongyang, September 21 (KCNA) -- A meeting took place at the Korean Hall in Tokyo on September 14 to mark the 80th anniversary of the formation of the Union of Korean Students in Japan.

Present there were Pak Ku Ho, first vice-chairman and concurrently director of the Organizational Department of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), Song Sang Gi, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Korean Students in Japan, vice-chairpersons and department directors of the union, officials of the local headquarters and members of the union.

Pak Ku Ho, first vice-chairman and concurrently director of the Organizational Department of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, made a congratulatory speech.

He said that the organization of overseas students just like the Union of Korean Students in Japan, which has covered the road of patriotism for 80 years in the alien land, can not be found anywhere in the world and it is the greatest pride of Chongryon and Koreans in Japan to have such a Juche-oriented traditional organization of overseas students as the Union of Korean Students in Japan.

Song Sang Gi, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Korean Students in Japan, in his report extended the highest glory and warmest thanks to the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, who bestowed special loving care and solicitude so that it could significantly celebrate the 80th anniversary of the formation of the union, reflecting the single mind of loyalty of all its officials and members.

Then it was followed by speeches.

A letter to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting.

On the same day, a reception was given to mark the 80th anniversary of the formation of the Union of Korean Students in Japan. -0-
