Pyongyang, April 14 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung was the greatest man and great sage of history who was boundlessly revered and respected by all people.

Among the foreign friends attracted by the personality of the President as a great man was former Indonesian President Soekarno.

After visiting the DPRK, he made sure that the immortal revolutionary hymn "Song of General Kim Il Sung" was popularized to his country.

On hearing the news that President Kim Il Sung was to visit Indonesia, Soekarno formed a reception committee for the President and personally became the chairman of the committee to push forward with the preparations for welcoming him.

On the day when President Kim Il Sung arrived in Jakarta in April 1965, the Indonesian government, under the instruction of its president, declared a special rest in Jakarta and organized a grand welcome work.

Hundreds of thousands of citizens gathered at the airport and held a ceremony greeting the most distinguished guest to warmly welcome President Kim Il Sung's visit to Indonesia.

When the President arrived at the square, huge crowds of citizens loudly sang "Song of General Kim Il Sung" in Korean, waving flags of the two countries and bouquets.

Even at a banquet for the leaders of different countries who participated in an international event held in his country a few days later, President Soekarno saw to it that this song was played.

He said that "Song of General Kim Il Sung" is the one he and all the Indonesian people know well, adding that the song is a world-famous one as President Kim Il Sung is well known to the world.

The immortal revolutionary hymn "Song of General Kim Il Sung" is still resounding as the song praising the great man. -0-
