Pyongyang, April 8 (KCNA) -- Roberto Gabriele, general secretary of the Movement for Peace and Socialism of Italy, issued a press statement on April 1 on the occasion of the 113th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

He said in the press statement titled "President Kim Il Sung, the great leader of the world revolution" that the world progressives are recollecting with deep emotion the career of President Kim Il Sung, an outstanding leader of the Korean people and great revolutionary, on the occasion of the significant April holiday. He went on:

The President founded the Korean People's Revolutionary Army, guided by the immutable truth that national liberation should be achieved by force of arms, and led the hard-fought anti-Japanese war to victory, thus finally gaining the national independence.

In the 1950s when the Korean War was ignited by the U.S. imperialists, he defeated the imperialists with his rare military wisdom and outstanding commanding art and defended the sovereignty of the country.

Indeed, President Kim Il Sung is the great leader and the father of the people as he dedicated himself to the freedom and independence of Korea and the happiness of its people.

He regarded it as his motto to believe in the people as in Heaven and shared his destiny with the people throughout his life and built the DPRK into a country where the people are its masters, a socialist state independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in defence.

The world progressives highly praise him as the eternal President of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
