Pyongyang, November 18 (KCNA) -- According to Rodong Sinmun, the State Academy of Sciences in the DPRK has established a new technology of producing potassic compound fertilizer with rich domestic raw materials.

The new technology ensures less production cost and energy consumption.

Its application showed that the fertilizer helped to raise the yield of rice, maize, wheat and barley.

The academy has also made progress in the research into developing the technology of locally producing potassium hydroxide, the basic raw material of nutrient solution needed at large-scale greenhouse farms, and producing potassium fertilizer and alumina simultaneously with less energy. -0-
