Pyongyang, November 11 (KCNA) -- Officials and researchers of the Academy of Forest Science in the DPRK are conducting sci-tech activities for creating forests of economic value and managing them.
The academy has organized a nationwide workshop and provincial shows through video conferencing and on the spot to help the officials, technicians and employees in relevant cities and counties know well about the scientific and technological problems arising in the creation and management of forests of economic value and apply them to the reality.
Many seedlings and scions of trees with high economic value were sent to cities and counties. Researchers have scrupulously conducted technical guidance on tree-planting, manuring and tending and grafting on the spots to raise the rooting rate of planted trees and alive rate of grafts.
The academy established a nutrition technology for increasing the fruit production of Evodia daniellii Benn and manufactured fruit-picking tools.
It has also conducted the work to publish books on sci-tech problems arising in the creation and management of forests of economic value and apply the system of supporting the decision-making in the creation of a golden mountain in different parts of the country. -0-
