Evening Gala Held to Mark 80th Birthday of SPYL

Pyongyang, January 18 (KCNA) -- An evening gala of youth and students was held in Pyongyang on Saturday evening to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, a Juche-oriented youth organization.

Among the spectators were Kim Jong Sun, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Mun Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the youth league, the participants in the celebrations of the 80th founding anniversary of the SPYL and youth and students in Pyongyang.

When the song "Cheers of the People" resounded through Kim Il Sung Square, the evening gala began. The participants extended the highest glory to the peerlessly great men who led the Korean youth movement to victory and glory with the unique idea of valuing the youth and through the outstanding guidance and trained the young people to be reliable successors to the revolution.

The participants were full of pride in glorifying their youth with the highest honour in the great era of Kim Jong Un, along with the name of patriotic youth.

The cheers of youth and students with their ardent desire to perform fresh miracles and feats and leave the traces of loyalty and patriotism resounded along with songs of enthusiasm and struggle such as "We Will Devote Our Youth to the Country".
