DPRK's Best Scientists and Technicians for 2025

Pyongyang, May 7 (KCNA) -- Min Kwang Sik, a researcher at the Metal Engineering Faculty of Kim Chaek University of Technology, is one of the DPRK's best scientists and technicians for 2025. He contributed to putting the metallurgical industry on a Juche basis.

He developed a steel-making method based on the combination of oxygen converter and UHP electric arc furnace. This method, devised for the first time in the country, is helpful to the modernization of railway.

He succeeded in building a process of producing active quicklime and developed a method of refining molten iron by use of carbon monoxide instead of expensive argon. -0-
