DPRK Premier Inspects Various Sectors

Pyongyang, April 5 (KCNA) -- Pak Thae Song, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a field survey of various sectors.

At the Sunchon Cement Complex, the premier said that the complex should give definite priority to the ideological and political work to learn from the fighting spirit and traits of the workers at the Sangwon Cement Complex, steadily raise the operation rate of equipment and conduct a proactive mass technological innovation movement, so as to attain the goal of cement production set forth by the Party this year without fail.

At several farms in Suan, Singye and Sohung counties, he learned about the state of the growth of earlier crops and preparations for immediate farm work, and stressed the need to minimize the damage caused by drought by properly taking care of the nutrition of the crops according to the characteristics of the crops of various species in all the fields and maintaining and repairing irrigation facilities properly.

He stressed the need for agricultural production units to actively introduce advanced farming methods and continue to increase the area of the fields for grain-to-grain double cropping, and for agricultural officials to steadily intensify technical guidance on farm work.

At Pyongyang Middle School for Orphans and the Educational Books Printing Plant, the premier stressed once again the importance of the work for improving the qualifications of teachers and providing educational books in the implementation of the second universal 12-year compulsory education programme. He called for steadily exploring and applying superior teaching methods to train orphans into talents with practical abilities, and for directing great efforts to the management of equipment and technical control to bring about innovations in textbook production.

The field consultative meetings discussed the issue of providing raw materials needed for cement production in a responsible manner, the issue of taking thorough technical measures to repair equipment in a qualitative way and improve the efficiency of dust collection, the issue of providing orphans with sufficient study and living conditions and the issue of producing and providing textbooks.

Meanwhile, the premier inspected the Hard-Alloy Raw-Materials Production Station under the Pyongyang Cermet Tools Development Company to learn about the problems arising in production and take the relevant measures. -0-
